When does exfoliation need to be done?

The stratum corneum is the outermost layer of discarded cells in the epidermis, composed of 15-20 layers of dead cells. It is our natural barrier, protecting us from harm. However, due to slow metabolism, improper cleaning, and accumulation of waste, the stratum corneum of the skin will thicken, hindering the absorption of nutrients, making the skin dark yellow, rough, and without luster. So it is necessary to regularly exfoliate.

If your skin looks a bit dull and dull, and at the same time feels a bit rough and uneven; After using essence and face cream, I feel that for a long time, the skin care products are "floating" on the surface of the skin and cannot be quickly absorbed by the skin; There are non inflamed acne and it is caused by keratin embolism. If you have the above situation, it means you need to exfoliate.

However, if you have sensitive skin and red blood streaks on your cheeks, it indicates that your stratum corneum is thin and there is no need to exfoliate at this time.

Once the keratin on the surface of the skin is removed, it temporarily loses a barrier that locks in water, making it easy for the skin to lose moisture. So after exfoliating, it is important to immediately use hydration products. For sensitive skin, products containing soothing ingredients such as chamomile can be used to soothe the skin and avoid irritation. Once the cuticle of the skin becomes thin, the function of water locking will also become weak, so after replenishing water, remember to use water locking lotion or cream to create a new protective film for the skin to prevent water loss.
